Braided Rope Table Lamp, France, Mid 20th C.

A sculptural table lamp base made from thick braided rope, twisted into a tripod-like form with a brass fitting at the top. Unattributed, but in the manner of French designers Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet, known for their nautical-inspired, hand-knotted furniture and lighting. Warm, tactile texture with real sculptural presence.
