“Woman and Chair” Oil on Canvas, 1945

An expressive oil on canvas by Swedish artist Olle Svanlund, signed and dated 1945, depicting a woman seated by a chair. The composition pairs painterly gesture with a restrained modern palette, offering a strong mid-century Scandinavian work with graphic presence.

From 1927 -1928 Olle Svanlund studied in Germany at the Reiman Art-school in Berlin as well as at the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen from 1938-1941. He also lived in Paris, where he was the pupil of F. Léger and O. Friesz.
