Vintage Alvar Aalto Deep Birch Wall Shelf, Model 112A, for Artek c. 1980

A late 20th century Artek wall shelf designed by Alvar Aalto, the Model 112A wall shelf is a classic example of Scandinavian modern design. Crafted in lacquered birch, the shelf features Aalto’s signature bentwood lamella supports, offering both structural clarity and organic warmth. It has a deeper shelf depth than the model 112B shelf.

The shelf can be mounted with the supports either above or below the board, allowing flexibility in use — ideal for books, objects, or everyday storage. A timeless and highly functional piece, suited to both modern and traditional interiors.

Vintage; light wear consistent with age; darker patches and slight discoloration on some patches.
